Red-bellied Pitta (1/4)

Pitta erythrogaster  

It is such a thrill to see the Red-bellied Pitta.

This Red-bellied Pitta is in a tree three metres off the ground. We pushed our way through thick rainforest until we found the tree that the bird is singing in and then hoped it would come out of hiding.

Suddenly it appeared and our breath was taken away by its beauty. Photos do not do it justice.
